Beauty Review: Tarte Gives My Lips a Double Dose of Pretty!

Tarte had me at their lovely Cheek Stains so it wasn't hard for me to fall in love with Tarte's new Double Dose lip gloss. I love the direction Tarte is going with their products - vitamin infused glosses that are good for your skin and body. I was intrigued by Inside Out Vitamin Lip Gloss, but the colours were too sheer for what I was looking for. Double Dose has the shine plus the colour.

Here's what it does:
"With Tarte Double Dose Berry Boost and Gloss you get a dual-powered dose of beauty and treatment. The inner berry boost is a T5 concentrated pigment that mixes with the outer high shine gloss. The result is rich colour that helps rejuvenate your lips."

What is Tarte T5 Super Fruit complex?
"...blend of the five most active superfuits: goji, acai, maracuja, acerola and pomegranate...loaded with naturally occuring, antioxidant-rich nutrients and vitamins that have been known to deliver refining, antiaging and skin-restorative benefits with each application...".

I LOVE this gloss! It makes my lips look and feel amazing. As soon as I apply it to my lips, they look smooth and plump. I chose Go Go Goji, a sheer sparkling blush pink also the perfect colour to give your lips that "naturally plumped" look. The pigment goes on full but the clear gloss sheers it out, not too much that you can't see the colour. The gloss applies thick but isn't tacky or sticky. The thickness makes for a lasting colour. The squeezable tube and slanted sponge applicator makes it an easy application. The only thing that bugs me is that sometimes only the clear gloss comes out with no colour. I tried squeezing it just from the middle where the colour is. I don't know if it was just a fluke but it works! Minor flaw because I still love it. The scent is peppermint so it makes my breath feel fresh. I'm usually skeptical about makeup products that claim to improve the skin over time and give the body added health benefits. The more I've used Double Dose, I'm really noticing a difference in the appearance of my lips. After I wear it, I don't have to apply lip balm as often and my shape is more defined and fuller looking.

Overall, I'm hooked. I have many glosses but this one is my new favourite. The colour is so pretty and fresh and makes me look radiant. I'm tempted to get the rest of the colours but we'll see! I'm searching for the perfect orangey-coral - suggestions anyone?? Has anyone tried Tarte's Double Dose? What do you think of their new line? Happy shopping!

I followed the link to Sephora and... wow! That's an expensive gloss. It looks awesome, but is it worth US$21? How much is it in real money? (Canadian... :P)

Thanks ladies! I'm really happy with it.

Arianne - lol ok it is $30 CDN. It's a little steep but I'm used to paying that much for Nars glosses so it doesn't phase me. It's got the T5 Super Fruit Complex! :P) I forgot about the price because I didn't pay for it haha but now I may not get ALL of them...thanks Arianne for reminding me! lol
