December 1st is World's Aids Day in support of the fight against HIV/AIDS! Makeup Junkie would like to take some time to recognize this wonderful cause.
M.A.C. has been a moving force in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Through the sales of VIVA GLAM lipsticks and Lipglasses, M·A·C has raised over $130 Million, all of which has been directed to the M·A·C AIDS Fund (MAF). The Fund, in turn, gives grants to HIV/AIDS-focused organizations and programs around the world and here in Canada.
This Holiday, M.A.C. has created two stunning VIVA GLAM lipstick palettes ($27 CAD) in Cool and Warm tones. The lipsticks are packaged in stunning red bejeweled cases and every cent will go towards the M.A.C. Aids Fund! The palettes are a great gift idea and you can customize the shades by mixing and blending together! I love all the VIVA GLAM shades but my fave is VIVA V.
Another way you can show your support is by picking up these adorable M.A.C. Kids Helping Kids ($8 CAD) Christmas cards. I am a huge fan of these cards because they are illustrated by children for children affected with HIV/AIDS everywhere! These cards are great ways to personalize your gifts this season. Also available now are M.A.C.'s Kids Helping Kids Pillow Packs ($9.50 CAD set of 3)! These are lovely packaging ideas for a fantastic cause!
MAF is also supporting "Voices of Hope", the first-ever national event marking Worlds Aids Day in Canada! Three HIV/AIDS treatment organizations in Vancouver (Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation), Toronto (Casey House) and MontrĂ©al (La Maison du Parc) will make history on the weekend of November 28 – December 1, 2008 as they unite for the 20th anniversary of International World AIDS Day with a concert in each city. Concert info:
The Toronto Concert: Monday, December 1 (World AIDS Day), 7 p.m.
