Beauty Review: Urban Decay Deluxe Eyeshadow!

Urban Decay has not be in my makeup radar for years now mainly because as I got older I thought their products where too glittery, colours too trendy, and the packaging appropriate for the teens and early 20's. Now that I'm testing the waters again, I'm realizing it is all those things and more. The line really has a trendy, indie feel to it and appeals to a woman who has a creative style all her own and expresses her unique individuality through colour and texture. I think all of us have a little, if not a lot, of that in us that we'd like to express. Urban Decay definitely offers something for everyone.

All the colours from Urban Decay's Deluxe Eye Shadow line made me lust for all of them, but Scratch, a shimmering silver pink, really caught my eye. The light pink hue along with the shimmer really brightens up the eyes. I love the velvety soft texture of the shadows because they glide on like butta'! The pigment is luxe and rich, doesn't crease and has staying power. The shimmer isn't glittery, but is fairly frosty so I don't recommend it for women that have crepe lids or wrinkles. It may seem a little too shimmery for everyday but it's perfect just on the center of the lid and in the inner corner. You can also pair it with a matte shadow to tone down the shimmer effect. I love the shimmer though especially for Spring because it just looks fresh, paired with a semi-matte blush and glossy lips. You can also match this with a lot of different shadow colours. Use it as a base or for highlight, the options are endless! I used it the other day on its own with some black liner smudged into the lash line for a quick and easy look. There's lots to love with these shadows particularly the packaging! Every shadow colour has a different psychedelic artsy picture on the lid that's for sure a collector's item! Happy shopping!
