Confession Of A Makeup Junkie #2

#2. When it comes to buying new clothes I can't bring myself to buy a shirt over $30 but when it comes to makeup I'll gladly dish out the money for a $30 lipgloss!

People, I seriously have a problem. I need to sign up for Makeup Junkies Anonymous! Shopping for clothes and accessories is such a chore because I make myself search for bargains unless it's a key piece that I've been lusting after for a long time. Yes, in a way I'm saving myself money but not really because I then get it in my head that I can justify a $38 purchase for a duo shadow from Nars! Time and time again it just baffles me but I continue to make those outrageous purchases sometimes spending over $200 at one time (usually for a job but mostly for personal use and that's with my discount!). And every time I bring that little bag from Sephora, Holt Renfrew, or M.A.C. home my husband just shakes his head and asks, "What did you buy now??". Please tell me that I'm not the only one with this problem??

What's the most you've spent on beauty products at one time? Would you rather spend more on makeup or clothing/accessories/shoes?

You're not alone !! I do have the same problem !! I don't understand why?? Because normally, the way you are dressed is what makes the most of your presence, and with just drugstore makeup (with the correct application) we could get really pretty! Is not the same with clothes, sometimes you need a gorgeous dress, a beautiful shirt...nice body TOO !! LOL

But makeup??? My friends cannot distinguish between two purples, or two different browns shades!! They have even told me that I look better with no MU !!

Let's put together a MAA (Makeup Addict Anonymous) online ASAP !!!

Take care,

Aura

Hmmm. While I do spend quite a bit on make-up, I still spend a lot more on clothing (honestly, just shoes!). I often am perfectly satisfied with a drugstore eyeshadow, but I would never buy shoes at Payless.

i would rather drop my cash on makeup and shoes because those things last season after season. plus, if i gain a few pounds i know that there will be no problems having to fit into some NARS blush or my fave Via Spiga heels.

I've got to agree with Karen on this...Clothing trends change so quickly that it makes little sense to spend beaucoup bucks on the 'latest' thing. With Makeup however no matter how trends change you can still use the same products-just in different ways. It forces you to be more creative I believe.

Sigh...this is what I keep telling myself because all the holiday gift sets are comming and those are my true weakness...I'm lusting after the MAC collection and LORAC's mini mocktails set.

I totally agree with u, I swear my fiance begs me to buy some clothes. And my friends cannot understand why I spend so much on make-up..but just like some people have things for shoes/jewelery/clothes, our thing is makeup, lets do it...let's start an MAA...

I'd spend good money for my HG foundations like Bareminerals.... but I do tend to spend more money on a very nice coat/top/pair of pants and/or shoes.. esp boots. :)

eyes makeup and lips - eh, I'm okay with drugstore brands. But my foundation - NUH UH!

well, I am glad I am not the only one! Yes, I agree with Karen - I like the fact that no matter what size I am my makeup will always fit me! Shoes and jeans I like to spend a little more but my makeup is right up there. Although, I have purchased some really great sandals and platform pumps from Payless that I always get compliments on haha. So, although Payless can be beneath some if it's a great style and a great bargain I'm in! I'm with Fabulously Broke in The City, I also like to spend more on foundations and concealers. Without a great base, everything else just looks wrong. Thanks guys for fessing up and making me feel a little normal!

Yes I too have a problem, makeup is just addicting and a definite must have, with clothes, styles are in then before you know it they are out, never go wrong with makeup where you can use it for various looks!
